Experience:

Roberta has more than 30 years as a dancer, choreographer and instructor in a wide variety of educational settings 20 year veteran of Happendance, a Professional Modern Dance Company in Lansing, MI. Additional experience coordinating outreach education, workshops and concerts Grant writing and administration experience.

• Current Adjunct Professor at Lansing Community College. Teaching Ballet, Modern Dance and Movement for Actors. Movement Consultant and Choreographer for many LCC dramatic productions including “Pride and Prejudice” (2003 Pulsar choreography nomination) “You Can’t Take It with You” and “Spring Awakening’.
• Five time nominee for City Pulse Magazine (Lansing, MI.) Pulsar Choreographers Award. 2006 Pulsar Choreographers Award for the LCC production of “The Many Deaths of Shakespeare”. “Dance choreography by Roberta Otten-Mason was exceptional.”- Monica Harris Brooks – City Pulse
• Choreographer for Riverwalk Theatre (Lansing, MI.): James Joyce’s “The Dead”, (winner of 2009 Pulsar Award for Best Musical and Best Ensemble); “The Rothschilds” (choreography nomination) and “The Light in the Piazza”
• Director, choreographer and performer for S’Moves Performing Company since 2004. Rehearsing at Perspective2, Lansing, MI
• Choreographer/Movement Consultant for over 40 dramatic productions and dance concerts
• Provided dance research for Purple Rose Theatre production of “Gravity” (World Premiere – February, 2010
